Other additions.

Forgot to mention,

Picked up a set of these:

Thought it would be a good purchase, saw them being sold at a sidewalk sale at the mall while walking around.

Tested them out and was quite empressed. Didn't think a set of good knives could be that big a difference.

Its been a while but not much has been happening on the home front.

Got me one of these to work with my camera:

Been looking at getting a dog. Was thinking of a chow maybe.

Been spending alot a time going to Dine out Vancouver. The three course meal idea lets you experience a bit of everything from the restaurant. I was so surprised that restaurants booked up so quickly.
I think the best of the ones that I have been to was Cannery. It had a nice view and good food.

First time in a long time that I have called in sick to work. I usually don't do that. But today was quite the day. Never have I felt so bad. For the past 3 weeks I've had the hardest time sleeping and trying to get myself motivated.

What made things worse was that everytime I woke up I just felt even worse as if I hadn't gone to sleep at all.

Now I'm up writing my journal up. I can see a long day ahead. *grin*

what to do

Sometimes reactions speak volumes when approached by something that is beyond comprehension.Either its a gesture, something said to you or it could be just the way someone looks at you. All these things and many others can bring the slightest reaction to the biggest outburst.

I have yet to realize what causes someone to bring out these emotions and to push someone into a reply of some sorts.

Many times I've reflected on some of these occurrences and have yet to this day realize what it all started over and what could be done to avoid it. What can I do to bring on the good revelations of life. I've come across many great individuals in my life and hopefully each one has brought some sort of life experience that will bring better to myself.

I've always tried to take these times as learning experiences or as stepping stones to the next level of life. Seems like many times for every advance the next step I'm pushed back.

Life's pondering keep holding me in the same place.

bed linen.

Went out to Home Outfitter and checked out some of their deals they have going on. Found a bunch of nice stuff but didn't have the $$$ to pick them up.

I started out looking for a coffee grinder. Just cuz a guys gotta have a cupa joe in the morning that decent. I really probably wouldn't of used it since I drink that horrid shit they have at work all the time. Nonetheless a decent home grinder for my beans would still be good.

My two choices were:

first pick

second pick

I'm one of those that likes to leave my beans being ground up in peace while I partake in other things to do. I don't want to be sitting there and fiddling with the coffee grinder.

Well that idea got shot down real quick when I couldn't decide on the unit to get with the right price.

So with 20% coupon in hand I went looking for a cover for my duvet. Found one half price by Nautica. Quite happy with my purchase I went to pay for it. They actually let me use the additional 20% off on top of the 50% off. Good deal. Pictures to follow

crazy occurrences in the washroom

Weirdest thing happened to me this morning. I was in the washroom doing my business when this guy walks in. The funny thing is not the guy walking in but that he props the door that provides privacy to the occupants doing their thing, wide open.

He then heads into the stall and starts takin care of business.

three things that puzzle me about this:

1) does he not realize that door is there to give others some privacy
2) door is there to keep the smell he is going to create/emanate IN
3) if he finds the area confined then go somewhere else and do his business..

You always tend to find the weirdest people in the workplace...

the two week experiment.

For the past 7 days I've been kicking back mostly salad and proteins. Funny thing is I noticed that I feel much better and also much more energized. This is starting to beat my regular diet of carbs and just about anything you can thing of and then some more.

I do notice that I somewhat still feel hungry at times but not like a starved hunger but more like I need to snack on something. This is really a weird feeling.

Next goal to start up on is hitting the gym more regularly. I haven't don't this in quite a while and wonder what its gonna do to me if I start.

Hopefully these two things allow me to look healthy for the summer....

long day, long night.

Started the day out just relaxing. Something that's been a growing thing that I don't get enough of. I have been spending a lot of time just sitting near the window of my condo and just watching the people pass, the mountains in the distance and just reassessing how far along I have come in the past year. Its nice to know that I have actually move to a level that I can see the actual changes in my future.

On a whole different note, Played two games of hockey and am quite satisfied with the outcome of both. First game was great. Played a chippy team that could just play hockey. They just had to take things a little too personal. On top of it all they were just a bunch of sore losers and couldn't get things done aside of shooting their mouth off. Got told to learn how to skate, showed the stupid ass when I set up the next 3 goals of the game. Finally got the game tied up and took it to them in overtime. Nicest part was when I winded up and ripped a shot at the net, too bad it hit a defender but from what my goalie on the other end said it could be heard over from where he was. The net looked a mile wide but still hit someone. That's when playing really bites the big one.

Well at least I get a long rest day on Sunday. Should be good..

awesome night last night.

Finished playing hockey game at about 8:00. Wasn't a great game. My team couldn't' get anything done at all. Team got pushed around and skated really tired. Went home and cleaned up and went to a Halloween party. That was a lot of fun. Blew off the hockey dude idea for a costume since I wasn't gonna show up wearing wet smelly hockey gear.

Left that party around 12, met lots of people and made some new friends. Finished off the night by going to AuBar. The place was packed. Lots of drunk people.

what a day, what a day.....

Hooked up for a few drinks with one of my buddies from work. Surprising to myself it was going to be a long night of drinking ahead. Not a bad thing for a closet drunk like myself. I enjoy a few *many??* drinks once in a while. Hooking up at TGIF's wasn't a bad idea. Drank about two pitchers and had two plates of tapas. Right after finishing off the second pitcher we were offered some Giants tickets. What a deal. Whole meal cost about 30 bucks after taking the cost of the tickets off.

The game wasn't bad. Kinda sloppy playing but it would do for hockey. I love a good game and tonight was a good game to watch. Quite the nail biter. Got to meet Crazy George at the game. He was really cheering the crowd on. Also helped to have a Micky of Vodka powerade's to go with the game. By this time I was really feeling the buzz. Game ended in a tie. Lots of hot girls to check out there too.

Left the game and proceeded to another buddies to have some more drinking. Finished the other Micky off. By this time I was hammered. No more driving tonight..*grin* Finally gave in and fell asleep on the couch. Not a bad deal for the night. Got to smoke up a little before kicking it in. That really hit the spot...

I really didn't want to but have this overlly moralist standpoint that I'm gonna burn in hell if I miss a day of work. Guess its just me, I'm one of those people that feel like I'm ripping someone off if I don't go to work. I think its nappy time now and try and sleep off this cold.
not a bad day. spent the entire day at home. Didn't do anything new at all. Just stayed home and relaxed. Went out about 11pm for a few drinks to celebrate. One of the girls I went with invited me out to celebrate on Saturday. I was going to just play some pickup hockey otherwise, so since I don't get much opppurtunity to go out I'm going to skip hockey and go for some late night drinks instead....

after game chilling.

Just finished playing another game tonight. Wasn't too bad, this team I play for tries to look for one another. Just got to keep them motivated. Kinda surprised that a couple guys liked me talking to them on the ice and giving them direction and guidance. Hit the restaurant at the rink afterwards. Had a Burger and Beer coupon supplied by the team. It really hit the spot. Talked a bit with my teammate and goalie about how the game went. I miss doing that. Makes like the team has some better cohesion in the end.

not a bad night

Just got back from Au Bar. I've never had the chance to go check it out. Met up with a friend from work. Had a great time. I would of taken pictures but just wasn't up to bringing my camera there. Couldn't believe how one of the girls that accompanied us drank so well. She must of had a dozen drinks and knew everyone in the club.

blah..

Today was a horrendously miserable day at work. I don’t thing anything constructive came out of it. I was getting calls left and right. That wasn’t the worst part of it. All the calls were severely aggravating. I ask these people questions to help them and they keep repeating themselves. I had to reassure my co-workers more that once that I have had it. I was going to go postal. They all snorted and laughed it off. I think the best part of the day was a brief conversation I had with my co-worker.

Me: Hey you got a minute.
Co-worker: yeah, gimme a sec (he was actually talking to his wife)
Me: did you see the movie “Sixth Sense”
Co-Worker: yeah sure.
Me: Remember when that little kid says to Bruce Willis, “I see dead people….”
Co-Worker: yeah of course.
Me: Well I see STUPID people. (Referring to the people phoning in)

I know that one’s been played out and all and I am definitely sure he’s heard that one, but we both just cracked up laughing for a good 5 minutes over this. I kept reminding him over and over again about this and it was still extremely funny.

It’s great when you’re having a really crappy day, you can just sit back for a moment and break the tension with a good laugh. I think that turned my day around….

Was over at my friends place fixing his computer. I couldn't believe how long it took. He picked up some take out from Memphis Grill. This place rocks. I'm a big fan of BBQ and smoked meats. Finally finished fixing his computer about 3 hours later.

Time for bed....zzzzzzzzzz.....

not a bad game tonight.

Just got back from my saturday night pickup hockey. Not a bad night, don't really feel I worked that hard but I had fun. Hockey hasn't been fun for me lately. I don't know what it is. Either I'm trying too hard or I'm just not playing my best hockey. Just can't seem to find that happy medium.

New season is starting soon. Don't know how elated I am about playing this year. I still have a love for the game but don't know if I want to play. Guess time will only tell on this one.
